Pori Moni put on 2-day remand again

A court in Dhaka has placed Dhallywood actor Pori Moni on a two-day remand in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act. 

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas passed the order on Tuesday. 

CID, the investigation agency of the case, produced her before the court at 12:10pm and sought a five-day remand. 

Earlier on Thursday, police produced producer Nazrul Islam Raz and Pori Moni before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid with seven-day remand for them. Later the court granted four-day remand for them.  

On August 4, RAB conducted a raid at Pori Moni’s house in the capital Banani and recovered a huge amount of drugs from her possession. The elite force detained her after 4 hours of raid and took her to RAB headquarters. RAB also conducted another raid at producer Nazrul Islam’s house and recovered huge amount of drugs and pornography making materials from his possession.

Later, RAB filed a drug case against Pori Moni and also filed two cases against Nazrul Islam under the Narcotics Control Act and Pornography Act.
