Police get 8 days to grill model Piasha
Police have been granted eight days to question model Faria Mahbub Piasha in three separate cases filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury passed the order after a hearing on the remand plea filed by the police.
Out of the eight days, she would be interrogated for respectively two, three, and three days in the cases filed with Gulshan, Bhatara, and Khilkhet Police Stations.
Earlier on Monday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam placed the model on a three-day remand.
Police conducted a drive at model Faria Mahbub Piasha's house in the capital's Baridhara on Sunday night and detained her.
On information gleaned from her, the detective branch of police raided the house of Mou on Babor Road at Mohammadpur early Monday and nabbed her.
In a press briefing after the drives, Dhaka Metropolitan Police detective branch Joint Commissioner Harun Ur Rashid had said Piasha and Mou are the members of a gang.
Their houses were raided as part of an investigation into the allegations of blackmailing many people against them, he said.
Foreign alcohol, Yaba pills, and leads were seized from their houses, and Mou's house had a liquor bar, too.
