Veteran actor Wasim no more

Bangla movie superstar Wasim has passed away. He was 71.

He breathed his last at Shahabuddin Medical College and Hospital in the capital around 12am on Sunday.

Zayed Khan, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association, confirmed the death to Jago News.

He was suffering from different old age complications.

He started his career in the film industry as an assistant director of the film Chhando Hariye Gelo (1972), directed by S.M. Shafi.

He first acted in the lead role in the film Rater Por Din (1973), which also included Bobita as co-artiste in the cast. 

His film ‘The Rain’ was dubbed in 47 languages and shown in many theatres across the globe.
