Asif Akbar gets bail in a case filed by Nancy

Popular singer Asif Akbar has secured bail in a defamation case filed by another one Nazmun Munira Nancy.

Mymensingh Additional Chief Judicial Court judge Abdul Hye granted the bail to Asif on Sunday.

The judge also asked him to appear before the court on April 8, confirmed the defense lawyer Rezaul Kabir Anar.

He said, "The learned judge granted bail to singer Asif Akbar in special consideration after he attended the court."

Earlier on July 10 last year, Nancy filed a complaint with Kotwali Police Station, Mymensingh against Asif Akbar.

In the complaint, she said Asif on different occasions has been spreading defaming, false and confusing information against her in various Youtube, Radio and Television channels showing violent mentality in her success as a singer.

She also alleged that Asif sold the copyright of her 12 songs without her consent. The latter started spreading deceptive information, including derogatory comments, against her after she had claimed the copyright, she added.
