Indian actor Rajiv Kapoor dies
Late actor Rishi Kapoor's brother, actor Rajiv Kapoor has died in Mumbai. As per reports, the actor died due to a heart attack. He was 58. Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram and paid condolences to the late actor. She shared a photo of Rajiv Kapoor and wrote, "RIP" along with a folded hands emoji.
Randhir Kapoor confirmed the news of his brother's death. While speaking to Times of India, he said, "I have lost my youngest brother, Rajiv. He is no more. The doctors tried their best but could not save him.” He added, "I am at the hospital, waiting for his body."
The veteran actor died of a heart attack. An official statement from the family is still awaited. Rajiv Kapoor was known for his role of Narendra in Ram Teri Ganga Maili. The film released in the year 1985 and marked the last directorial venture of Raj Kapoor.
Rajiv Kapoor made his Bollywood debut with Ek Jaan Hain Hum in the year 1983. He then went on to act in films like Aasmaan, Lover Boy, Zabardast and Hum To Chale Pardes.
In April 2020, Rishi Kapoor died after a two year long battle with cancer. The late actor was battling leukemia since 2018. His death came as a sudden shock and tributes started pouring in from his industry friends, family, and fans. A statement from the Kapoor family read, "Our dear Rishi Kapoor passed away peacefully at 8.45 am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukemia. The doctors and medical staff said he kept them entertained to the last."
