Afsana Mimi named Shilpakala Academy director

Renowned Bangladeshi actor Afsana Mimi has been appointed as the director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Confirming the matter to Jago News, Afsana Mimi said she was appointed in the post for three years on contractual basis.

"Too responsibility. I must try to perform the duty properly. For this, I seek support of all," she said.

Cultural personality Syeda Mahbuba Karim has also been made director of the principal state-sponsored national cultural center.

The Ministry of Administration has issued an order appointing the duo on contractual basis.

Mimi started her acting career through the theater troupe Nagorik Natya Sampradaya. Her last play was Prachyanat's Raja Ebong Onnanno in 2011. 

She got her breakthrough in acting in Bengali television drama Kothao Keu Nei in 1990.
