Actor Sadek Bachchu dies of COVID-19

Renowned actor Sadek Bachchu has passed away from coronavirus.

He breathed his last at Universal Medical College Hospital (UMCH) in Mohakhali at 12:15 pm on Monday.   

Dr Ashis Kumar Chakrabarty, Managing Director of the hospital, confirmed the death to Jago News. 

According to his family, Bachchu was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with breathing problems on September 6. He tested positive on September 12. Later, he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit of UMCH from DMCH after his health condition deteriorated. 

Bachchu was born at Haziganj in Chandpur on January 1, 1955. His full name is Mahbub Ahmed Sadek Bachchu. He made his acting career debut with Shahidul Amin directed Ramer Shumoti.

The actor received the National Film Award in 2018 for best performance in a negative role for the movie ‘Ekti Cinemar Golpo’.
