Aishwarya Rai also tests positive for Covid-19
Indian actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Sunday, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said, reports India Today.
Aishwarya's husband, actor Abhishek Bachchan tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Saturday and was admitted to the Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. Abhishek's father Amitabh Bachchan also tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Saturday. He has been hospitalised as well.
Jaya Bachchan tested negative for the novel coronavirus.
“Smt Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya Abhishek Bacchan have also been detected positive for Covid-19. Smt. Jaya Bachhan ji is tested negative for Covid-19. We wish the Bachchan family to get well soon with a speedy recovery,” Rajesh Tope said in a post on Twitter.
However, a few minutes after tweeting the test results of Aishwarya and Aaradhya, Rajesh Tope deleted his tweet.
Aishwarya and Aaradhya are asymptomatic and will remain in home quarantine.
Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Saturday and shared the news of their test results on social media.
The Nanavati hospital, on Sunday morning, issued a statement and said that Amitabh Bachchan is stable with mild symptoms.
"Mr Amitabh Bachchan is stable with mild symptoms and is currently admitted in the isolation unit at Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, Mumbai. He has confirmed that he will keep updating via Twitter," the statement said.
Aaradhya, Abhishek and Aishwarya’s first child together, was born in 2011.
Workwise, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in 2018’s Fanney Khan, co-starring Rajkummar Rao and Anil Kapoor.
