Remove intimate photos of Mithila, Fahmi from Facebook: HC to BTRC

The High Court has directed Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to remove the intimate photos of actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila and director Iftekhar Ahmed Fahmi from Facebook and different online news portals immediately.

A HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order after hearing a writ petition on Sunday.

The bench also directed the BTRC to take measures to remove the personal photos of Stamford University student Rubaiyat Sharmin Rumpa, who was found dead in the Siddheshwari area of the capital on Wednesday night.

Barrister Tahsina Tasnim Mridu filed the writ petition on Thursday.

Secretaries to Information and Technology, Home Ministry and BTRC were made respondents in the petition.

To be noted, some leaked photos of Mithila and Fahmi went viral on social media recently that triggered huge gossips in the country.
