Photographer Mahfuzur Rahman dies at 70
Popular cinematographer Mahfuzur Rahman Khan passed away in a city hospital on the wee hours of Friday. He was 70.
Several times National Film Award winner Mahfuzur breathed his last at United Hospital around 12:26am while undergoing treatment.
Earlier on Monday night, critically sick the photographer was admitted to city's Green Life Medical College and Hospital.
He had been suffered from diabetics and lung disease for long.
Mahfuzur Rahman Khan was born on 10 May 1949.
He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Cinematography a record nine times for the films Obhijan (1984), Sohojatri (1987), Poka Makorer Ghor Bosoti (1996), Srabon Megher Din (1999), Dui Duari (2000), Hajar Bachhor Dhore (2005), Amar Ache Jol (2008), Ghetuputra Komola (2012) and Padma Patar Jol (2015).
Khan directed and produced films as well. He acted in a lead role in the films Jallader Darbar, Amar Janmabhumi, Dabi, Alo Chhaya and Cholo Ghor Badhi.
