Quader visits ailing actor ATM Shamsuzzaman

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has visited ailing veteran actor ATM Shamsuzzaman at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Tuesday. 

Quader, also the General Secretary of Awami League, visited Shamsuzzaman at the cabin block on Tuesday morning.

BSMMU Vice Chancellor Professor Doctor Kanak Kanti Barua, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Doctor Muhammad Rafiqul Alam, Treasurer Professor Doctor Mohammad Atiqur Rahman and BSMMU director Brigadier General AK Mahbubul Haque were present.

Shamsuzzaman was hospitalised on April 26 and underwent surgery on April 27. 

His illness originated from indigestion. 

Shamsuzzaman’s film career started in 1961, as the assistant director in Udayan Chowdhury’s Bishkonna. 

He further gained popularity as an actor for his role in Amzad Hossain’s Noyonmoni. The actor was awarded with the Ekushey Padak in 2015.
