Ferdous returns home as India cancels visa
Popular actor Ferdous Ahmed returned Dhaka from India on Tuesday night after the country’s home ministry cancelled his visa for violating conditions by campaigning for the Trinamool Congress candidate Kanaia Lal Agarwal in West Bengal.
Ferdous returned Dhaka on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines that took off from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata at 9 pm.
The flight landed at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 10 pm.
Earlier, the home ministry of India cancelled his business visa and issued him a leave India notice. Ferdous Ahmed was also blacklisted.
The Election Commission of India on Monday said the Model Code of Conduct doesn’t specifically state anything about a foreign national canvassing for any political party.
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday lodged a complaint against the Trinamool candidate on violation of model code of conduct on foreigner canvassing for a party.
