President mourns death of Ayub Bachchu
President Abdul Hamid on Thursday condoled the death of legendary guitarist-songwriter-singer Ayub Bacchu.
In condolence message, the president expressed profound shock at the death of Ayub Bachchu.
He also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Ayub Bachchu breathed his last around 10:15am at Square Hospital in the capital, according to his family source.
Bachchu is well known for his distinctive headgear and guitars. Even though he started out as a Rock musician he eventually branched out to the more mainstream music of Bangladesh.
He was born in Chittagong on 16 August 1962. He started his music career with the band “Feelings” in 1978. From 1980 to 1990, he was a member of Souls as lead guitarist.
In 1991, he formed his own band “LRB”. “LRB” released its first album as a double album, which contained hard rock songs like “Ghum Vanga Shohore” “Madhobi” and “Hoker” “Sesh Cithi keno amon Cithi hoy” “Happy” “Dhakar Sondha”. This was first Double Album in Bangla Music History.
