Folk singer Bari Siddique is on life support

Noted folk singer-composer and flautist Bari Siddiqui is on life support in the intensive care unit at Square Hospital in Dhaka.

He was rushed to the hospital on Friday night after he suffered from a cardiac arrest.

His both kidneys are ineffective and he is also suffering from diabetes, according to doctors.

Siddiqui was awarded the Bachsas Award for his music direction in the film Srabon Megher Din (1999) for the song Showa Chan Pakhi. He was awarded for his singing not for composing.

In 2000 April, he released a folk album titled Lokhkho Tara.
