Farooki’s Doob set to release in cinema halls

Doob, a film by prominent Bangladeshi filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, is all set to release in cinema halls after Bangladesh Film Censor Board stalled the no-objection certificate for the film.

Censor Board Secretary Jalal Uddin Munshi confirmed the matter to Jago News on Tuesday.

He said: “The key procedures have already been finilised in order to give censor certificate. Hopefully, we can finish rest of the formalities within next couple of days.”

When contacted Filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki said that he was very much delighted while getting the news, and hoped that everyone would enjoy the film.

The film has been produced by Abdul Aziz and Irrfan Khan under the banner of Jaaz Multimedia and Irrfan Khan Films.

Doob stars Bollywood star Irrfan Khan, Kolkata’s Parno Mittra, Bangladesh’s Nusrat Imrose Tisha and Rokeya Prachy.

Earlier, Filmmaker and actor Meher Afroz Shaon alleged that Doob depicted her late husband, famous writer Humayun Ahmed in an ‘objectionable’ way.
