Katrina says ex-boyfriend Ranbir is now her best friend!

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have kept everyone on their toes for a while now. The two parted ways last year, right in the middle of shooting for Anurag Basu`s Jagga Jasoos.

There were dark clouds over the completion of the film back then given the awkwardness that might have ensued between Ranbir and Katrina. But the director and the film team heaved a sigh of relief when the actors showed up on the set without any bitterness as such.

Now that Jagga Jasoos is ready for release, everyone is busy asking questions to Ranbir and Katrina regarding this `phase`.

At the trailer launch of the film today, Katrina actually quipped that Ranbir was now her `best friend`. We`re not sure whether to take that seriously or not...

So when Katrina was asked if Ranbir was a better producer or a better friend (Kapoor is one of the producers of Jagga Jasoos), she said, "I think he is my best friend."

Katrina Kaif also said that she knew that her Ranbir`s 2009 "boring" film Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year would not do wonders at the box office.

At the trailer launch, Ranbir, Katrina and Jagga Jasoos director Anurag Basu were asked if they were confident about the success of the film that got delayed several times.

Ranbir said, "I cannot predict the box-office success, but I know it`s a good film. After Rocket Singh..., I thought I made a Munna Bhai MBBS but then we all know that the film didn`t work. So, as an actor, you cannot predict."

Katrina added, "I knew that Rocket Singh... would be a flop. After watching the film, I called him and said that it`s such a boring film! But in this film (Jagga Jasoos) we all enjoyed the process while filming. Every day when we gathered on set, we knew we are creating something new and interesting. As an actor, the outcome is not in our hand, but the process... I thoroughly enjoyed."

Jagga Jasoos hits the screens on July 14.
