Stand-up comedian Roni sued under ICT Act

Popular stand-up comedian Abu Hena Roni who was the champion of Indian comedy show Mirakkel Akkel Challenger-6, has been sued under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.

Hafizur Rahman Sabuj, Joint Secretary of Awami Juba League of Singra Upazila unit in Natore, filed the case with Singra Police Station on Thursday night.

Roni, son of Abdul Latif, is the inhabitant of Bildahar village of Chamari union in the upazila.

Juba League leader Sabuj told Jagonews24.com that, “Roni posted a status on his facebook account defaming the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”

In this connection, Abdullah Al Mamun, officer-in-charge of Singra Police Station, told Jagonews24.com, that, “they will take action against Roni after the investigation into the matter.”
