Mithun recuperating from a bad back

Of late, there have been plenty of speculations that Mithun Chakraborty, who hasn’t been seen in public for a while now, is severely unwell.

The actor was hospitalised earlier this year after he suffered a bad bout of fever and vomiting.

Speaking to Mirror, Mithun’s son Mahaakshay aka Mimoh said, back in 2008, when dad was filming Luck in South Africa, he was harnessed in the air for a daring stunt.

When he was brought down, there were some hard rock’s beneath the safety mat, which went unnoticed and hurt him badly.

The pain from a muscle spasm was excruciating, but disappeared with time. But a few months ago, the pain recurred and he was advised to take it easy.

It could be because of age and since it was the lower back, we didn’t want to take any chances.

He had a physiotherapist visiting everyday but now he’s better and the sessions are down to one or two in a week,’ says his relieved son.

‘So it wasn’t as if he was bed-ridden. His back is 80 per cent better and by January he should resume work,’ Mimoh signs off.
