Film actor Jashim’s 18th death anniversary today
Today is the 18th death anniversary of late actor Jashim, who, for his versatile acting quality, was one of the most popular actors of the Dhaka film industry.
Abul Khayer Jashim Uddin (August 14, 1950 –October 8, 1998), better known by stage name Jashim, was a Bangladeshi film actor.
Born in 1950 at Keraniganj in Dhaka district, Jashim’s acting career started as a villain in the film Dost Dushman, a remake of the Hindi film Sholay but later he got the opportunity to become a hero.
He performed in more than two hundred films. One of the first films that brought him to attention was ‘Dost Dushman’.
Jashim-acted notable films are ‘Rangbazz’, ‘Tufan’, ‘Jobab’, ‘Barud’, ‘Kalia’, ‘Poribar’, ‘Buker Dhon, ‘Lalu Mastan’, ‘Lal Golap’, ‘Nag Nagini’, ‘Habilder’, ‘Tiger’, ‘Sundori’ etc.
Jashim died on October 8 in 1998 following a brain hemorrhage.
