BPSC publishes 46th BCS written exam schedule amid protest

A group of job seekers has taken to the streets, demanding the deferment of the written exam for the 46th BCS. They have been protesting for three consecutive days in front of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) in Agargaon, Dhaka. On Thursday, the protesters also staged a demonstration. During the protest, law enforcement personnel used batons and arrested two individuals.

Despite the protests, the BPSC remains firm on its decision to begin the written exam on May 8. The constitutional body published the schedule for the written exam on its website today. However, following the publication, the BPSC held an urgent meeting.

According to the published schedule, the written exam will start on May 8. On the first day, the Bengali (001) exam will take place from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, with a total of 100 marks. The exams for mandatory subjects will conclude with a three-hour-long General Science and Technology (010) exam on May 19.

The BPSC also mentioned that the exam hall arrangements, seating plan, and other important instructions will be published on their website in due time.

The 46th BCS circular, which outlines the exam process, was first published on November 30, 2023. The preliminary exam was held on April 26, 2024, and the results of the preliminary exam for the 46th BCS were announced by the BPSC on May 9, 2024. Initially, 10,638 candidates passed the first round, but following political changes on August 5, the results were revised, with 21,397 candidates selected for the written exam.
