MBBS test: Coaching centers to remain closed for 22 days

The government has directed all coaching centers across the country to close for 22 days to ensure transparency in the admission process for government and private medical colleges.

According to the directive, coaching centers must suspend operations from Wednesday, January 1, until midnight on January 22.

The MBBS admission test for the 2024-25 academic year in government and private medical colleges will take place on January 17.

To maintain transparency in the medical admission process, the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) issued a notification on Tuesday, December 31.

The notification stated that the MBBS admission test will be conducted simultaneously at 19 centers nationwide. It emphasized that these tests have historically been held with the highest level of transparency, with senior government officials closely monitoring the process to uphold this standard.

As a precautionary measure, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's Medical Education-1 branch has ordered the closure of all coaching center activities during this period to ensure maximum transparency, caution, and impartiality.

The notification also warned that strict actions would be taken against those who violate this directive. Law enforcement agencies will remain vigilant to enforce compliance, and all concerned parties have been instructed to follow the guidelines.
