Govt fixes public job application fee at Tk 200
Maximum application fee for all public jobs, including Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS), has been fixed at Tk 200.
The government has also decided to reduce BCS viva exam mark to 100 from existing 200.
The Secretary Committee took the decision in a meeting on Wednesday, December 4.
“The government has cut the BCS examination application fee to Tk 200 from Tk 700,” Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Dr Md Mokhles ur Rahman told journalists after a meeting at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
He said that the government, semi-government, bank and insurance companies can take a maximum of Tk 200 from a job seeking applicant.
The senior secretary also said they will request all non-government offices for charging job application fees at Tk 200. Besides, the government has also ensured that physically challenged person will not pay additional charge of Tk 100.
Dr Md Mokhles ur Rahman also noted that a notification will be issued in this regard within a week.
Earlier, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission, BPSC, proposed to reduce BCS examination application fee and viva marks.
