The Ministry of Education has directed the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee to prepare the results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations based on students' Secondary School Certificate (SSC) scores, where exams were cancelled.

In a letter sent on Wednesday, the ministry outlined that for subjects where exams were conducted, the results will be based on the evaluation of answer scripts.

However, for the cancelled exams, results will be calculated using a subject mapping system, referencing the students' SSC scores.

Tapan Kumar Sarker, president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, confirmed that they had received the ministry's instructions and would proceed with preparing the results accordingly.

He also mentioned that they would propose a possible date for the result publication to the Education Ministry for approval, after which the date would be officially announced.

The HSC and equivalent exams, initially scheduled for July 18, were postponed due to the violence surrounding the quota reform protests.

Further exams scheduled for July 21, 23, and 25 were also suspended as the situation worsened. On August 20, the government decided to cancel the remaining exams, responding to the demands of the candidates.

The HSC and its equivalent examinations for 2024 began on June 30, with 14,50,790 examinees participating from 9,463 educational institutions across the country.
