DU bans all forms of political activities on campus
The Dhaka University authorities have decided to ban all forms of political activities by students, teachers and employees on the university campus until further notice.
The decision was taken in an emergency Syndicate meeting held on Thursday night (September 19).
The university’s vice-chancellor, professor Niaz Ahmed Khan, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
“We held a meeting for around one and a half hours. In the urgent Syndicate meeting, it has been decided unanimously to prohibit all forms of political activities on the campus until further notice,” he said.
The move comes following the lynching of a mentally challenged youth at Fazlul Haque Hall, suspecting him of being a thief.
However, the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement welcomed the decision of banning politics on the campus.
