BUET alumnus Touhidul to teach at Stanford
Md Touhidul Islam, originally from Rajshahi and a graduate of BUET, has made history by becoming the first Bangladeshi to secure a tenure-track position at Stanford University.
Appointed as an Assistant Professor, Touhidul’s groundbreaking research focuses on applying artificial intelligence to medical diagnostics.
Touhidul holds a PhD from Texas A&M University, and his academic achievements mark a significant milestone for Bangladesh on the global stage, highlighting the growing presence of Bangladeshi scholars in prestigious institutions worldwide.
The US embassy in Dhaka in a facebook post congratulated him and saw the appointment as a proud moment for Bangladesh’s academic community which will serves as an inspiration for aspiring scholars in the country.
