5 universities get new vice-chancellors

The interim government has appointed new vice-chancellors to five public universities, including Jahangirnagar University and Rajshahi University.

The Ministry of Education issued five separate notifications appointing them on Thursday (September 5).

Philosophy professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan has become new vice-chancellor of Jahangirnagar University, JU, while physics professor Dr Saleh Hasan Nakib has been made VC of Rajshahi University.

Professor Dr Md Abdul Latif and professor Dr Muhammad Masud VC have been appointed VCs of Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology respectively while Dhaka University professor Dr Muhammad Ismail has been made VC of Noakhali University of Science and Technology.
