Prof Riazul Hasan new NCTB chairman

Professor AKM Riazul Hasan has been appointed as the new chairman of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board, NCTB.

The Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Education Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Saturday.

Riazul Hasan, a political science professor, lastly served as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, DSHE.

Earlier, he was a member (primary curriculum) of the NCTB.

His appointment comes after prof Farhadul Islam voluntarily stepped down as NCTB chairman on August 19 following the Awami League-led government's fall on August 5.
