SUST VC Farid Uddin resigns
Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor professor Farid Uddin has resigned, citing personal reasons.
He submitted his resignation letter to Chancellor President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Saturday, the university’s public relations office confirmed.
The decision came after the students demanded vice chancellor, pro vice chancellor, treasurer, and other officials of the university resign following the fall of Sheikh Hasina-led government on August 5.
Earlier in 2022, students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology sought his resignation alleging that he instructed the police to fire sound grenade, rubber bullets and teargas shells at them on the campus.
At that time, he did not step down and the then-government also did not take any action against him.
