RU VC, 28 officials resign

Rajshahi University’s vice-chancellor, professor Dr Golam Shabbir Sattar, resigns in the face of students’ demand.

RU acting registrar Dr Md Tariqul Hasan confirmed the matter on Thursday afternoon.

Besides, 28 officials of the university administration submitted their resignation letters, he said.

Golam Sabbir Sattar said he sent his resignation letter to the private secretary of President through a mail.

“Students demanded my resignation and that’s why I stepped down,” he added.
