HSC exams postponed indefinitely
The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations have been postponed for an indefinite period.
The new schedule for the postponed examinations will be notified later, according to a notification issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Education Ministry around 1pm on Wednesday.
Earlier, Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, Chairman of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board told Jago News that there is no situation to take the examination now. That is why it is not possible to take the postponed examinations in the new schedule. We have informed the ministry about the situation. They will issue orders and notify the matter accordingly.
The HSC and its equivalent examinations under all education boards except Sylhet Education Board began on June 30. All examinations were suspended on July 18 centring the movement for quota reform in government jobs. Later, the examinations were postponed in phases.
On August 11, a new schedule for the postponed examinations was published. As per the schedule, the written examinations were scheduled to be held on September 8.
However, the education boards said that there is no scope to the take examinations in the current situation following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
