The government primary schools, which remain closed across the country since July 24, will reopen on Sunday (August 4).

However, the primary schools in 12 city corporations and Narsingdi municipality will stay shut, the Primary and Mass Education Ministry said in a notice on Wednesday.

Earlier on July 17, the Primary and Mass Education Ministry announced the closure of primary schools in eight city corporation areas, citing student security concerns amidst protests for quota reforms.

On July 24, the ministry asked all primary schools across the country to close for an indefinite period.
