DU officers, employees go on full-day work abstention
The officers and employees of Dhaka University (DU) on Sunday started their full-day work abstention programme demanding the cancellation of the new universal pension scheme ‘Prottoy’ issued by the Finance Ministry.
As part of their programme, they took their position in front of the administrative building at 10am. They also brought out processions in front of the different administrative offices of the university.
Dhaka University Officers-Employees Unity Council organized the programmes.
The leaders and activists of the council said they will observe full-day work abstention programme till 5pm.
They warned that they will go for a tougher programme if their demand is not met.
Dhaka University Employees Unity Council Convener and Officers’ Association President Md Abdul Mottalib, Officers’ Association Acting General Secretary Md Mozammel Haque, Employees Association President Sheikh Mohammad Sarowar Morshed and its General Secretary Md Ruhul Amin were, among others, present in the programmes.
