Primary, secondary schools, colleges reopen

All primary schools, secondary schools, colleges, madrasas and technical institutions, which were closed due to heat wave conditions, reopened on Sunday across the country.

However, daily assemblies at these institutions will remain suspended until the heat wave becomes tolerable.

Besides, other activities at the educational institutions, which are done outside the classrooms or require sun exposure, will remain limited.

Schools and colleges were scheduled to reopen on April 21 after the end of Eid and Pahela Baishakh holidays but the closure was extended till April 27 due to intense heatwave across the country.

Classes resumed on April 28 although there was no remarkable change in the heat wave condition.

The government extended the closure of primary and secondary level educational institutions till May 2 following a High Court order for keeping those shut.
