Govt pry schools asked to suspend assemblies amid heatwave
The government has directed to suspend assemblies at all its primary schools across the country due to the ongoing heatwave.
The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education issued a notification in this regard signed by Senior Information Officer Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin.
“The ministry is keeping an eye on the ongoing heatwave across the country. In view of the situation, the assembly of all government primary schools in the country will remain closed until further instructions,” the notification said.
The government primary schools will reopen on Sunday after around one month vacation.
However, the Guardian Unity Forum has demanded to keep all educational institutions shut for seven more days due to the intense heat.
Professor Shahedul Khabir Chowdhury, Acting Director General of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, said the discussion on closure of schools is underway.
