SSC, equivalent exams begin
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations of 2024 under 11 education boards began across the country on Thursday morning.
The exams started with Bangla (first paper) at 10am and will end at 1pm.
A total of 20,24,192 students under the 11 education boards - nine general, one madrasa and one technical - are expected to take part in this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations from 29,735 educational institutions at 3,700 centres.
All coaching centres across the country have been declared closed from February 13 to March 12 on the occasion of the exams.
The examinees have, however, been directed to enter the centres 30 minutes prior to beginning of the examinations.
On February 5, Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Nowfel said he has decided to not visit the SSC examination centres considering the mental state of the students.
He said students feel pressure when authorities visit the examination centres and it also creates public suffering.
