DU Professor Sadeka Halim made JnU VC

Dhaka University's Sociology Department Professor Dr Sadeka Halim has been appointed as the first female vice-chancellor of Jagannath University.

By approval of President Mohammed Shahabuddin and according to section 10(1) of Jagannath University Act, 2005, she was made the sixth VC of the university for four years, the Secondary and Higher Education Division said in a notification on Thursday.

Sadeka Halim, the DU Sociology dept Chairman and former dean of the Social Science Faculty, replaces JnU VC Prof Dr Imdadul Haque who passed away on November 11.
