RU signs MoU with BSMMU for bilateral cooperation

Rajshahi University (RU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) for bilateral cooperation in the field of higher education and research in psychology on Wednesday.

A RU press release said RU Vice-chancellor Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar and BSMMU Vice-chancellor Prof Sharfuddin Ahmed signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides at the latter's office.

Chairman of the Department of Psychology Prof Mahbuba Kaniz Keya, Assistant Director of International Affairs Dr Shams Muhammad Galib, Director of Institute of Pediatric Neuro Disorder Prof Shaheen Akter and Training Coordinator Dr Mazharul Mannan were present on the occasion.

Under the MoU, post-graduate students, researchers and teachers of both universities can participate in training, internship, research, seminars and symposiums and community services to be held in each of the institutions.

In his remarks, RU Vice-chancellor Prof Golam Sabbir hoped the MoU will play a vital role in the field of psychology as well as mental health services.

It will also build skilled manpower in this sector, he opined.
