The results of the primary school scholarship examinations have been postponed shortly after release.

Dr Uttam Kumar Das, director (training) of the Primary Education Directorate (DPE), confirmed the matter on Tuesday. 

He said the scholarship results were postponed as some informational mistakes were found due to technical errors. 

Now correction is going on and the amended results will be published by Wednesday morning, he added.

All district primary education officers were, however, instructed not to send the results to the schools, the official also said.

Earlier today, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossain announced the results.

A total of 82,383 students got scholarships in two categories -- talent pool and general -- on the basis of their results in the exams held in December last year. 

The state minister had said this year 33,000 students got talent pool scholarships and 49,383 received general ones.

Around 483,759 students of Class V sat for the examinations held on December 30 last year.

The students took part in Bangla, English, Mathematics, and Science subjects in the scholarship examinations. The duration of the 100 marks exam was 2 hours.
