Flood-affected SSC candidates to get books by July 24: Dipu Moni
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Monday said at a meeting that the flood-affected SSC candidates in Sylhet and other areas will be provided with books by July 24.
The minister also said that necessary measures will be taken through the respective educational institutions to meet any kinds of needs of the students in Sylhet and other regions affected by recurring floods.
The minister made the remarks in a view exchange meeting with the officials of the education department at the Sylhet Circuit House.
Asked about the new curriculum Dr Dipu Moni said, “In addition to theoretical religious education, practical religious education has been included in the new curriculum, thus the issue of religious practice has become more important in the curriculum.”
"A malicious circle is spreading communal frenzy and harassing teachers in various educational institutions," the minister said while replying to the queries of the journalists present there.
Commenting that the propagandists are harming the religion by coming out of the religious spirit and using the religion itself, Dr Dipu Moni urged everyone to be careful about this and to come forward to prevent the propaganda from spreading further.
The Ministry of Education organized the meeting following the initiative to provide books and other educational equipment to the students of different areas of Sylhet due to the recent flood, which washed away and damaged their books and other educational equipment.
Other relevant issues like- the damage and recovery of the education sector because of the flood, educational activities in Sylhet district after the flood, damaged educational institutions, new textbooks and curriculum of SSC and educational institutions under MPO, were discussed at the meeting.
Under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet, Md Mujibur Rahman, education department officials of the four districts of the division were present.
