1.89 lakh students get GPA 5

A total of 1,89,169 students got the highest grade point average (GPA 5) in the HSC and equivalent examinations under 11 education boards across the country this year. Last year the number was 1,61,807.

Of them, 78,522 students got GPA 5 in nine education boards and 4,872 secured GPA 5 in madrasa board. Besides, 5,775 students obtained GPA 5 in technical board. 

However, a total of 95.26% students passed this year’s HSC and its equivalent examinations.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina officially announced the results through video conferencing from Gono Bhaban around 11:45am on Sunday.

Releasing the results of 11 educational boards, she said today’s student will be the future of the country.

She hoped the students will take lesson keeping in mind that they have to contribute to building the nation and forward the country ahead.

About 14 lakh students appeared in the HSC and equivalent examinations in 2021. Of them, 7.30 lakh are male and 6.70 lakh are female.

The HSC and equivalent examinations began on December 2 and ended on December 30 in 2021 while the examinations were held with a short syllabus due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
