Educational institutions to reopen on Sept 12

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni came up with the decision on Sunday after a higher-level meeting held at the Cabinet Division.
Mentioning that coronavirus infections are decreasing rapidly in the country, she said, "In-person classes at primary, secondary, and higher secondary educational institutions will begin on September 12."
In the starting, the Primary Examination Certificate (PEC), Secondary School Certificate (SSC), and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) examinees, and Class V students will attend classes every day, the minister said.
The students of Class I to IV, and Class VI to IX will be present at classes a day each week, she added.
The government ordered all educational institutions to close on March 17 last year following an outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the country.
Since then, the shutdown has been extended on several occasions, and most recently it has been prolonged to September 11.
