Classes at universities to begin from May 24

The government has decided to resume classes at all universities across the country from May 24.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni disclosed the information at an emergency press conference on Monday afternoon.
All halls of the university will reopen on May 17, the minister said.
The announcement comes amid demonstration by students of several public universities on their campuses over the last few days.
On March 16 last year, the government closed all the educational institutions to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The closure was extended several times, most recently until February 28 this year.
