Govt scraps this year's JSC, JDC exams too

After cancelling PEC and equivalent examinations due to coronavirus pandemic, the government has scrapped the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations, too for same reason.

M A Khair, information and public relations officer of the Ministry of Education, made the disclosure on Thursday.

On August 23, a summary on proposal of cancelling JSC and JDC exams was sent to Prime Minister and she gave her consent to this.

Officials concerned said though the examinations were cancelled, but the students would be made passed and given certificates through class assessment.

Earlier on August 25, the government cancelled this year’s Primary Education Completion (PEC) and equivalent examinations due to the pandemic.

The educational institutions in Bangladesh remained closed since March 17 because of the coronavirus outbreak.
