IU Al-Fiqh dept gets new chairman

Associate Professor M Anwarul Wahab Shahin has been made the new chairman of Al-Fiqh and Legal Studies department of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia, reports UNB.
IU vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari appointed him to the post for the next three years, IU acting registrar SM Abdul Latif told UNB on Thursday.
He was appointed to the post as the tenure of previous chairman, Professor AKM Nurul Islam, came to an end, he added.
