“Paribesh Parishad” meeting on DUCSU polls held at DU

Dhaka University (DU) authority conducted a meeting of “Paribesh Parishad” on overdue Dhaka University Central Student Union’s (DUCSU) election here on Sunday, reports BSS.

With Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair, the meeting starting around 11:30 am ended around 4 pm at Abdul Matin Virtual Classroom of Administrative Building.

The agenda of the meeting was the overall situation of conducting DUCSU and hall unions’ polls.

Paribesh Parishad, a platform comprising university authority and the students’ organisations, is working to maintain congenial atmosphere on the campus.

DU Pro-VC (Academic) Prof Dr Nasreen Ahmad, Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Dr Muhammad Samad, Treasurer Prof Kamal Uddin, Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani, provosts of the residential halls and assistant proctors participated in the event on behalf of university administrations.

Presidents and general secretaries of the central and DU units of 13 students’ organisations took part in the meeting.

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) central unit’s president Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and general secretary Golam Rabbani, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal’s central president Rajib Ahsan and its DU unit general secretary Abul Bashar Siddique, BCL DU unit president Sonjit Chandra Das and general secretary Saddam Hussain, Chhatra Union central president GM Jilani Shuvo and general secretary Liton Nondi and other representatives from left-leaningstudents’ organisations attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the participants expressed hope to hold a free and fair DUCSU as well as hall unions’ polls soon.
