Physically-challenged boy gets GPA-5 in SSC examination

Physically challenged Kamol Chandra Roy, a struggling student of Gobindho Ideal Secondary School in Sonaher union under Debiganj upazila in the district, who braved disability and poverty to achieve GPA-5 from science group in this year's SSC examination under Dinajpur Education Board.

Kamol is a fingerless boy in both hands by birth, BSS reported.

However, his dauntless attitude and constant endeavour has enabled him to capture outstanding results in the SSC examinations.

The success story of Kamol is now a matter of discussion for many. Interested people and journalists from the district headquarters visited his house at a remote village Sonaher Shahapara in Sonaher union under Debiganj upazila of the district.

Kamol, son of late Soronarthi Roy, also obtained scholarships in primary level and Junior Secondary Certificate (JSC) examination.

"I have a dream to be a doctor and for this I have run through the potholed path of my life, but now it has become uncertain due to my family' poverty," Kamol lamented while talking to this correspondent.

Kamol's mother Kamola Rani Bhoumik, a domestic help, requested the affluent and generous people of the society to come forward with financial assistance for her meritorious son's higher education.
