BRUR launches compulsory Rokeya Studies course

The Deans Committee of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) at a meeting today afternoon decided to launch compulsory 'Rokeya Studies' course in the university.

"The course will begin from the second semester for the students admitted in the 2017-2018 academic sessions in all 21 departments under six faculties of the university," said a press release.

Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah presided over the meeting held at conference room of the university's administrative building.

The noncredit and compulsory 'Rokeya Studies' course will be conducted for all students of 21 departments of the university.

Deans Md Ferdous Rahman of the Faculty of Business Studies, Professor Dr Parimal Chandra Barman of the Faculty of Arts and Professor Dr Abu Kalam Md Farid Ul Islam of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology attended the meeting.

Earlier, the fifth meeting of the Academic Council recommended proposal of launching Rokeya Studies course in the university on April 20 and the 17th Syndicate meeting approved the recommendation on April 22 last, the release added.
