JU set to celebrate 48th Independence and National Day

The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) is set to celebrate the 48th Independence and National Day with a vow to uphold the spirit of the Liberation War and build a 'Sonar Bangla' as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

To mark the day, the university authorities have chalked out elaborate programmes on the campus.

National anthem will be played at the central playground on the campus at 8 am on the day, with teachers, students and officials of the university taking part in it.

Later, JU Vice Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam accompanied by teachers, students and officials will pay homage to the martyrs of liberation war by placing wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar.

Meanwhile, JU Teacher-Student Center (TSC) has organized a four day 'Muktisangram Festival' to celebrate the Black Night of March 25 and Independence Day

Organized by JU TSC, around two kilometer long 'Alpona' will be drawn on the campus premises. All administrative and academic buildings and dormitories will be illuminated by colorful lights and diet foods will be served at dormitories on the occasion.
