US-Bangla plane crash: 3-day mourning at JRRMC
The authorities of Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College (JRRMC) in Sylhet is observing three-day mourning from Tuesday over the US-Bangla plane crash that killed 49 people at Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal on Monday.
JRRMC’s principal Professor Dr Md Abed Hossian, at a press briefing on Monday, declared the three-day mourning as its thirteen Nepalese students were among the victims of the aircraft.
Classes and examinations at the college remained suspended today while flag of the college was flown half-mast on the campus and teachers, students and staff of the college wore black badges.
The Nepali medical students were going to their homeland on a two-month vacation on completion of their MBBS final examination.
The 19th batch students of the medical college are Sanjay Poudel, Sanjaya Maharjan, Neega Maharjan, Anjila Shrestha, Purnima Lohani, Shweta Thapa, Meeli Maharjan, Saruna Shrestha, Algina Baral, Charu Baral, Samira Byanjankar, Ashna Shakya and Princy Dhami.
