Govt orders to close all coaching centres ahead of SSC exams

Activities of all coaching centres across the country will have to be suspended from Jan 26 to until Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations are over. 

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid came up with the announcement on Thursday in a meeting at the education ministry. 

He said that the decision has been taken seven days earlier of the SSC and equivalent exams to avoid any untoward incident.

Ahead of the exams, Law enforcement agencies of the country were asked to strengthen the security to prevent any kind of incidents including question paper leakage.

The minister said that the SSC and equivalent exams is going to be held through unified question papers this year for the first time in the country.

The exam will be cancelled if any evidence of question paper leakage found, the minister disclosed this at the his ministry.

The SSC and its equivalent examinees must have to enter their respective exam halls half an hour before the tests begin, otherwise they would not be allowed to sit for the test, he added. 

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Joint-director Nazmul Alam, Secretary to the Secondary and Higher Education Division Sohorab Hossain, Secretary to the Technical and Madrasa Education Md Alamgir Hossain, Additional secretary to Cabinaet division Sahara Banu and other related officials were also attended the meeting.
